Wellesley Patch readers,
After over two years of covering the town of Wellesley, I'm moving on.
Beginning this week, I will be the editor of Jamaica Plain Patch, and while I look forward to the challenges that await me there, I am sad to say I’ll be leaving behind a terrific town.
I grew up in the suburbs of Boston, so I felt I instantly connected with the issues that hit home for the people of Wellesley. The schools, traffic, community-based events and local businesses make Wellesley tick, and it was my pleasure to cover those for you.
You’ll still get great local coverage: Grahame Turner, formerly the editor of Brookline Patch and a Wellesley Patch freelancer, will take over for me. Email him with your news tips, events and inquiries.
For now, I’ll be just a few miles east on the Mass Pike, but hitting the ground in Wellesley with a phone and laptop in the fall of 2010 will always be in my memories.
Thank you for reading over the past two years. I really appreciate it.

Bret, thank you for an excellent two years of smart, thoughtful local coverage. You are always pleasant to work with and a responsible, caring journalist - a great Patch representative too.. The folks in JP are lucky to have you! - Julie Dennehy

I teach in Wellesley, so I've been following your writing on the Wellesley Patch. But I live in JP, so I'll start seeing your articles there!
