Wellesley Police arrested five individuals last week after officers found nearly $2,000 worth of stolen merchandise from area stores.

Hall, 26, of 8 Ware St., Dorchester; Carla Carrasquillo, 18, of 5 Shabazz Way, Roxbury; Shaevonte Campbell, 19, of 28 Shafter St., Boston and Tanasia M. Freeman, 21, of 16 Stellman Road, Roslindale were arrested July 3 after officers found them in possession of 20 items from LF Stores and Second Time Around totaling $1,978, according to Lt. A caller reported merchandise had been stolen from the stores. Area officers searched the downtown area where they found a vehicle with passengers who fit the description of the alleged suspects.
Officers stopped the vehicle near Wellesley College, Cleary said, where they found the suspects in possession of the merchandise.
All suspects were charged with shoplifting over $100 by concealing merchandise. Hall, the driver, was additionally charged with operating a motor vehicle after his license had been revoked, and driving an uninsured motor vehicle.
