Chisum: ‘Not Ready to Leave Wellesley’

Wellesley Middle School Jamie Chisum will not take a job in Brookline, he said today.

Middle School Principal Jamie Chisum will stay in Wellesley.

Chisum was recently in the running for a job as Brookline High School’s headmaster/principal, but according to a note he sent to parents this afternoon, he is “not ready to leave Wellesley.”

Here is his note obtained by Wellesley Patch:

I wanted to write you a quick note to let you know that the search process I was involved with is now over.  It was an exhausting process that taught me a lot about myself and gave me cause for a great deal of reflection.  I was humbled by the many messages of support and understanding I received from so many of you.  Those messages reinforced for me how much I value where I am today and the current relationships I have with this community.   I realized I am not ready to leave Wellesley and I am excited about continuing my work with you all as I look forward.

The Swellesley Report has a bit of background on Chisum’s road to Middle School principal.
