5 Things You Need to Know Today: May 22

Wellesley's Wonderful Weekend becomes Wellesley's Wonderful Week.

 

Each morning, Wellesley Patch presents “5 Things You Need to Know,” a collection of announcements, events, reminders and odd little ditties to help you organize your day.

1. The School Committee will meet tonight at 7:30 to discuss, and vote on, a variety of issues.

2. The Planning Board welcomed a new alternate member last night: Deborah Carpenter.

3. Traffic on Washington Street was at a stand still briefly last night as a truck attempted to back into Whole Foods just after 8 o'clock.

4. Board of Selectmen Chair Barbare Searle last night said the weekend's downtown scavenger hunt was such a success, area merchants are planning another one for a date to be determined.

5. Searle added that the Wellesley Wonderful Weekend events of this weekend were so well attened that "the police ran out of hot dogs... and the fire department ran out of cake."
