5 Things You Need to Know Today: April 12

Advisory Search Committee met yesterday to further the search for a new school superintendent.

1. The Advisory Search Committee met in executive session yesterday to discuss the next superintendent of schools.

2. At a Monday Board of Selectmen meeting, Ellen Gibbs, on both the board and search committee, said the names of the three finalists for the superintendent job will be announced Friday at a public meeting at 9 a.m.

3. On Tuesday, the School Committee voted unanimously to not renew Chartwells' contract.

4. The Boston Marathon is Monday. Many restaurants and shops are open during the marathon.

5. Have you been by the Wellesley Hills Branch Library? The chimney is gone.
