"We did it together", said Drs. Ali & Ali after Wellesley Dental Group's Fifth Annual Candy Drive concluded. They received a record-breaking amount of donated Halloween candy and with it, built a Great Wall of Candy! Schools and organizations from all over the Metrowest area united to donate candy and handwritten notes for troops overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan. The candy and cards will be distributed via CarePacks, a nonprofit organization. What a wonderful way to start the Season of Giving.

More than 20 organizations came, as well as countless individuals, who shared their support and posed for local TV and reporters.  The whole community was united through the spirit of philanthropy so that troops overseas would receive love, kind words, and sweets. The Candy Drive is a wonderful way to promote oral health by allowing children to give up their candy in a positive way, while teaching them the power of charity. The Drive is also a way to give back to those who have already given so much. Everyone on the caring team is truly serving as a "Smile Ambassador" in the community.
